Wedding Photographer Switzerland

Filed under: Wedding — admin @ 10:33 am

For Wedding Photography in all of Switzerland I recommend Traumfoto Swiss Wedding Photography , the photographer speaks English and has his recent work under display at his Wedding Photography Blog.
Finding a good wedding photographer is like finding a needle in a haystack. In fact, this has nothing to do with finding a wedding photographer in Switzerland. Whether in Zurich, Lucernce, Interlaken, Berne, Basle, Zug, Schwyz, Aargovia or in New York or London - the criteria are similar or the same.

A wedding is a once in a lifetime experience (for many, anyway), and you want to be sure that the pictures you get for your money are going to capture that day in the spirit with which it was celebrated.

You probably DO want some staged pictures, with your parents, in-laws, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, best friends. But you don’t want all your pictures staged. A photographer who grabs each guest in turn and asks them to cheese for a snapshot. That will bug your guests and you’ll get a lot of cheesy pics.

Capturing the spirit of the occasion requires that you get a photographer who is good at photojournalism - that he or she is at the right place at the right time and presses the shutter button. This is only possible through experience which gives the photographer a certain foresight or anticipatory vision, so to speak.

Digital photographs, as analog photographs on film, don’t come out perfect right out of the camera. They might be good, but lack that certain edge which would qualify them to become great pictures. In the digital age, photoshop and a host of other software are mandatory tools for all professional photographers and you need to hire someone who is proficient in these tools. Photoshop is large and powerful and most users know and use only a fraction of it’s power. On the other hand, it is difficult for a layperson to judge a photographer’s photoshop skills.

In the end it all boils down to the final result:

* Do you like the photographers’ style?

* Do the picture quality live up to your expectations?

* Don’t skimp on price. What would you rather have: A cheap photographer who delivers bad pictures or one who costs twice as much but delivers great results? Ten years down the road you won’t care about the price but will care about the results.

* Do you like the photographer on a personal level? A ratty photographer who takes good pictures can ruin a wonderful day.
So good luck in finding a wedding photographer in Switzerland - or anywhere for that matter!

Music Lyrics

Filed under: Entertainment — admin @ 10:57 pm

Music Lyrics fall under original pieces of work and are copyrighted. This means music lyrics are copyrighted for 70 years after the death of the author in many countries. Tough stuff. Wouldn’t it be great if all authors published their lyrics on a central server for anyone to browse? I mean, in most cases if I can hear, I can grasp what the lyrics are, so what the heck. Allow the fans full access to music lyrics without the legalities!

Top 100 Baby Names

Filed under: Lifestyle — admin @ 3:59 pm

I’m continually amazed at trends in baby names. These are usually localized to a specific countries, and statistics on the most popular baby sites make me wonder why so many parents don’t show any craetivity in naming their new baby. And then there are those - mostly from show business - who show HUGE creativity in their naming. Seems to me that they compete for the wierdest names they can think off. Poor kids! In Arabic countries, things are much easier. You’ll get away by just calling your son Mohammed or Ashraf, or your daughter Fatima. Done.

DMOZ Editor Server Dead (Open Directory Project - ODP)

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:37 am

DMOZ editors can’t log in since the 20th of October 2006. Their editor server is down. Today’s the 10th of November and they’re still “frantically trying” to get their server back up. I would think that loading a backup onto (a) replacement server(s) shouldn’t be much of a deal, but it seems it is. Either there was no backup (cough), or there’s no money for repairing the servers or buying some new ones. Judging by past time-to-act of DMOZ when applying for inclusions, it might be months, nay YEARS ;-) till DMOZ editors are allowed back in. In the meantime, nothing is being edited. Life at usual at DMOZ?

Is there anyone there?

Hello?

Panda Movies

Filed under: Entertainment — admin @ 6:43 pm

A fairly harmless-sounding title, but I did a google search and some quite unexpected search results popped up. It has all to do with girls (no, not panda girls) and boys, um, shall we say “interacting”. Well, me being a healthy straight male, I delved into the material and I must say there were loads of short but interesting movies at the site. Things start off with girls in everyday situations and end up there as well. It strikes me how camera-shy most of the girls are, going through the motions as if there was no tommorrow. This is raw sex, mostly sans sensuality.
